Directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, collectively known as Daniels, the film is a hilarious and big-hearted sci-fi action adventure about an exhausted Chinese American woman (Michelle Yeoh) who can’t seem to finish her taxes. This film feels like a tongue-in-cheek blending of typical Lascaux Micro-theater fare with the contrived computer-generated realities of today’s ubiquitous sci-fi blockbusters. We’ll leave it up to you to decide if the final effect possesses an authenticity that we are always hoping for!
EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE, ALL AT ONCE holds a 96% Fresh Critical Rating on RottenTomatoes.com!
“Yes, the movie is a metaphysical multiverse galaxy-brain head trip, but deep down — and also right on the surface — it’s a bittersweet domestic drama, a marital comedy, a story of immigrant striving and a hurt-filled ballad of mother-daughter love.” – A.O. Scott, New York Times
“Builds with stream-of-consciousness logic into a running joke, and then, even more surprisingly, into something profound.” – Jordan Hoffman, AV Club
“This sci-fi mashup has a message: Life might be fleeting, unremarkable, and inconsequential, but we should cherish it anyway.” – Frances Nguyen, BuzzFeed News
